- New features and improvements
-
- SD can now display 2 directories simultaneously. Press ALT W to open
- a new window. Each window is treated separately. You can copy or move
- files between the different windows. The window sizes are fully
- adjustable. Use the TAB key to change windows.
-
- SD Now supports highlighted background colors on EGA and VGA monitors.
- You are able to have colors you may have never seen before! Try
- adjusting the mainscreen background color in the change color option in
- the setup pull down menu.
-
- SD now has much enhanced mouse usage. When a mouse driver is installed,
- error messages allow mouse usage. The mouse tries to automatically
- locate you where it thinks your next move will be.
-
- Shadowed pull down menus are now used. Since the shadow is black, if you
- use black as the background color, you may have a hard time seeing the
- shadows.
-
- The pull down menus have been redone. The Tree pull down menu is gone.
- The tree options are now in the MORE pull down menu. There is a new
- ZIP window that has options for working with .ZIP files.
-
- Many new tagging options have been included.
-
- The PKZIP and PKUNZIP windows have been redone and made more powerful.
-
- A wipe directory option has been added to the tree display.
-
- Nearly all user suggested options have been added.
-
- SD now stores it's setup information at the end of the SD.EXE file so
- it is compatible with the PKWARE compress EXE program. This allows the
- SD.EXE file to be a compressed file that expands into memory when run.
-
- PAGE 1
-
-
- SD.EXE is a shareware product. If you find SD.EXE to be fast and
- easy to use, a registration of $35.00 is suggested. With each
- registration of $35, you will receive the next update of SD.EXE free
- of charge. Please mention any features you would like added to SD,
- and the version you are currently using. Wisconsin residents please
- add 5% sales tax ($1.75).
-
- Please support the shareware concept so that more programs like this
- can be made available at a reasonable cost. The shareware concept
- allows you to try the software before you buy it.

- BASICS
-
- Use UPARROW, DOWNARROW, Home, End, PgUp, PgDn to browse through the files.
- To tag or untag a file, press Enter. You can also press SPACE.
- Pressing Enter on a subdirectory will change to that subdirectory. To tag
- a subdirectory (the only reason to do this is to change its attribute or
- name) you must press the SPACE bar. To select an option such as DELETE or
- HELP simply press the appropriate function key. If no mouse is installed,
- the column to the right of where the files are displayed contains helpful
- information. The highlighted letter is the shortcut key for that function.
- From DOS, you may type SD or you may specify the filespec. To display only
- .BAT files, you would type SD *.BAT. To use the Pull Down Menus, press
- the TAB key, LEFTARROW, RIGHTARROW, or ALT + the capital letter on the
- top of the screen. Arrow to the desired item, and press Enter to execute
- that option. If you wish to toggle the value (like in the sort menu),
- press the Space bar. Use the Esc key to exit from pop up windows or sub
- menus. Press F10 to display the SD help screen for quick help.
-
- SD does not limit the number of files you can read off the disk. The
- number of files read is only limited by the amount of available memory.
- A typical 640K machine with no TSR's can read several thousand files
- per directory.
-
- MOUSE
-
- To tag a file, locate the mouse on top of that file and press the
- leftmost mouse button. The leftmost mouse button always acts the same
- as Enter. The rightmost mouse button always acts as Esc. If you have
- a 3 button mouse, the middle button acts the same as the rightmost button.
- To change to a different subdirectory, locate on top of that subdirectory
- and click the leftmost button. When a mouse is installed, a mouse menu
- appears to the right of where the files are displayed. Clicking on
- one of these items is the same as pressing the appropriate function
- key(s). To tag a directory, click immediately to the left of the
- filename.
-
- To use the pull down menus, click on the menu item desired on the top
- row of the screen. Once a menu is displayed, click on the item you wish
- to change.
-

- of using the pull down menus.
-
- PGUP - Click on the bar above the file list to view the previous page.

- DOS MENU ITEMS
-
- COPY (DOS MENU)
- Copy works similarly to the DOS copy command. The copy function key

- To copy the tagged files to the \WORD directory, press F1 or C and then

- structure of the current drive. Arrow to the directory where you want to
- copy the files to, and press Enter.
-
- If the destination disk is full, SD will ask you if you would like to

- at this time if you wish. Pressing Esc will abort the copy process.
-
- If you wish to abort a copy, press Esc.
-
- If you have 2 file windows open, and you wish to copy files to the
- other window, this option will be displayed in the copy window.
- You can press F1 to copy to the other window. If both file windows
- are on the same drive and in the same directory, a copy would not be
- legal since you cannot copy a file onto itself.

- If you want to copy the tagged files to a floppy disk drive, simply
- click on the desired item in the mouse menu (COPY A: etc.).
-
- To copy to a certain subdirectory, click on "Dos" in the pull down menu,

- copy to, and press Enter.
-
- To use the tree function, instead of typing in the directory to copy to,

- clicking on the directory in the tree display.
-
- If you don't want SD to overwrite existing files, there is an option for
