- "A New Year's Thought"
-
- "And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon
- the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, ans sware by Him
- that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and
- things that therin are, and the earth, and the things
- that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are
- therein, that there should be time no longer."
- Revelation 10:5-6
-
- How easy it is to say, "Someday I am going to start
- living for God." or "Tomorrow I will witness to my
- neighbor." Most of us are guilty of putting things off,
- always, of course assuming that we will get around to it
- sooner or later. But the Bible tells us that one day we
- are going to run out of time.
-
- God has given each one of us just so much time. Once
- squandered, It can never be recovered. I have the
- freedom to spend my time wisely, or foolishly. I have no
- fear that God will strike me with a bolt of lightning if
- I do not use it for Him. But how can I look into the
- face of one who loves me so much, who gave His all for
- me, and say: "I'am sorry. I loved other things, and
- other people more than you. My time was too valuable to
- waste on spiritual things."?
-
- 1985 has drawn to a close. 1986 is here. God help me to
- make better use of my time in the coming year than I did
- in the past.
