  15. "Redskins Season Statistics" is an overhead which I created 
  16. in CorelCHART! to help convince the participants in my 
  17. NFL Football pool that the World Champion Washington Redskins 
  18. are not out of it yet for an NFC playoff berth this 1992 season. 
  19. It was made possible thanks to CorelCHART!, CorelPHOTO-PAINT!, 
  20. and CorelDRAW!

  22. REDSKINS.CCH was created almost entirely with the Corel 
  23. graphics applications CorelCHART!, CorelPHOTO-PAINT!, and 
  24. CorelDRAW!  About 80% of this artwork was done with these Corel 
  25. products.  I began by using the Redskins season statistics 
  26. through twelve weeks of the current National Football League 
  27. season.  With this information, I created a Vertical Bar Chart 
  28. in CorelCHART!  I found the image of a football in the clipart 
  29. bundled with CorelDRAW!  In CorelDRAW! the image was re-sized, 
  30. rotated, vertically mirrored, and exported as a Windows Metafile.  
  31. The Vertical Bar Chart was made into a Pictograph using the 
  32. football image.

  34. Next, I scanned as 100 dpi TIF files, two separate photographs 
  35. from the magazine, "Sports Illustrated" (one picture of a 
  36. stadium end-zone, and another of a Redskins player catching 
  37. a pass).  These two pictures were pasted together, and the seam 
  38. eliminated using CorelPHOTO-PAINT!  I used Fractal Design Painter 
  39. to filter and modify the picture to gain a painted appearance, 
  40. and CorelPHOTO-PAINT! was used to convert it back into an 
  41. 8-bit 256-color image.  The picture was then imported into 
  42. CorelDRAW!, placed onto a background, then exported 
  43. as a Windows Metafile.

  45. Back in CorelCHART!, I changed the background of the Vertical 
  46. Bar Pictograph using the painted photograph Metafile.  The 
  47. pictograph was resized and moved, and text added.  The text at 
  48. the bottom axis of the pictograph was done in CorelDRAW!, 
  49. pasted into CorelCHART!, resized, and placed properly on the 
  50. axis.

  52. The entire job was done in about eight hours of continuous work.
