IRTO 1.57
Virus checker and remover
(C) Nagy Ferenc László
This program is written for viruses, which are common in Hungary. If you
are not Hungarian, you can send me viruses, too. I will write the virus
killer as fast as I can.
Usage:
IRTO [drive:] [directory] [file] [options]
Any type of parameters can be anywhere in the command line. If you place a
backslash after the end of directory name, the subdirectories will not be
scanned.
Options: (Capital letters are enough)
/DeComp
IRTO decompresses ARJ, ZIP, UC2 and RAR archives to TEMP directory,
if it finds the archiver program.
/Fast
IRTO scans COM and EXE files only.
/List
List of known viruses.
/Many
Scan more than one floppy disk.
/NoBell
Silent mode.
/NoBoot
Not to scan BOOT sectors.
/NoMem
Not to scan memory.
/NoSelf
Not to scan IRTO.EXE.
/NRB
Not to try to find unknown BOOT virus in memory.
The first thing is IRTO checks itself if it's infected. Then IRTO scans
memory. If IRTO finds a virus in memory, it says like this:
Memory checking.
Virus found: One half
BOOT from a clean system disk and run IRTO again.
In this case you should turn off the computer (CTRL-ALT-DEL isn't enough)
and BOOT from a system disk. If IRTO finds the virus again, then your system
disk or IRTO.EXE infected. IRTO is not able to function correctly if virus
is in memory.
If IRTO finds a virus on disk, it says like this:
C:\COMMAND.COM <- name of the file
Virus found: Backform <- name of the virus
C: clean, D: delete, ESC: skip
You can continue the program with one of the keys. If you press an 'A'
before the key, IRTO will accept this answer to every copy of this virus. If
IRTO is not able to clean this file, the clean text will be missing. In case
of BOOT viruses delete text will be missing. If an archive contains a virus,
you can clean it if you uncompress the archive manually.
If you use QEMM or a big-big winchester with BIOS extender program in BOOT
sector, IRTO may detect unknown BOOT virus in memory. To switch it off, use
the /NRB option.
Simple examples:
IRTO C: Scan drive C:
IRTO /L List of known viruses
IRTO C: D: E: /DC Scan C: D: E: drives with decompressing
IRTO is freeware. You can copy it to another people with no modifications.
If you find a bug, write me, please. If you find a virus, write me, too.
