  6. being denied the appreciation essential to his self-esteem and that there is
  7. nothing he can do about it.  Disheartened by the lone struggle against
  8. difficulties with no encouragement.  Feels he is getting nowhere; that instead
  9. of the admiration he needs, he is consistently misunderstood.  Wants to escape
  10. from the situation but cannot find the strength of mind to make the necessary
  11. decision.  IN BRIEF: Humiliated by lack of appreciation.
