  3. disappointment.  PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION:  An emotional relationship is no
  4. longer running smoothly, has proved deeply disappointing and is now regarded as
  5. a depressing tie.  While on the one had, he would like to free himself from
  6. this attachment altogether, yet on the other, he does not want to lose anything
  7. nor risk uncertainty and the possibility of further disappointment.  These
  8. contradictory emotions aggravate him to such an extent that he tries to
  9. suppress them beneath an aloof and severe attitude.  IN BRIEF: Stress arising
  10. from emotional disappointment.
