  7.      In a perfect world, S-max and Andrew.BAS would be
  8. mission commanders on the space shuttle, but due to the
  9. ineptitude of Fate, the computer hardware engineer and the
  10. programmer wind up working for a government defense
  11. contractor instead.  When they lose their jobs, thanks to
  12. the hardware hacker's shenanigans, they start a high-tech
  13. company.
  14.  
  15.      "The Adventures of Lone Wolf Scientific" is a bi-weekly
  16. chronicle of a computer startup where technological
  17. innovation never comes without a measure of chaos.  In the
  18. coming months, you'll meet S-max, Lone Wolf Scientific's
  19. Macchiavellian Head of Hardware who plots to change the
  20. world with his Rube Goldbergish inventions, his soft-spoken
  21. programmer sidekick, Andrew.BAS, who names all his programs
  22. after successful Apollo flights, and Congressman Boris Q.
  23. Popinrath, a technology gunho politician who finds in Lone
  24. Wolf Scientific the only reason he can give constituents to
  25. re-elect him.

  27.      "The Adventures of Lone Wolf Scientific" is an
  28. electronically syndicated series.  New installments appear
  29. every two weeks (barring any misadventures on the part of
  30. the author) on better computer bulletin boards and
  31. electronic online services everywhere.

  33.      You'll find the latest installments of "The Adventures
  34. of Lone Wolf Scientific" in:

  52. may not appear there until several days after their release
  53. date.  The best place from which to download episodes is
  54. Exec-PC.) If you would like "The Adventures of Lone Wolf
  55. Scientific" to be uploaded to your BBS/online service free
  56. of charge, just drop a note to one of the mailboxes listed
  57. below.

  59.      You may upload episodes of "The Adventures of Lone Wolf
  60. Scientific" to any bulletin board or online service that you
  61. wish.  You may also print them out and distribute them--in
  62. hardcopy or electronically--to friends, colleagues, loved
  63. ones, whomever you wish. ("The Adventures of Lone Wolf
  64. Scientific" go particularly well on company LANs.)
  65. You may not charge anyone anything for your reproducing
  66. efforts except maybe for an occasional cup of coffee or a
  67. doughnut--you may demand a fee of one of those.

  69.      The only responsibility that will be placed on your
  70. weary shoulders is the request that whenever you
  71. distribute episodes of "The Adventures of Lone Wolf
  72. Scientific," you distribute them with this file,
  73. WELCOME.LWS, and the accompanying file EPISOD.LWS which
  74. lists all previous episodes and the order in which they
  75. first appeared.

  77.      "The Adventures of Lone Wolf Scientific" is copyrighted
  78. by the author, of course, but may be reproduced for free, in
  79. whole or in part, in any not-for-profit publication,
  80. including computer user's group newsletters.  The author
  81. requests only that a copy of the publication be mailed to
  82. the street address listed below.

  84.      Additionally, if you publish a user's group newsletter,
  85. you may obtain from M. Peshota, free of charge, a disk
  86. containing whimsical "shorts" designed specifically to fill
  87. small empty spaces in newsletters.  Simply mail a blank
  88. floppy disk to one of the addresses listed below, along with
  89. the name of your user's group.
