Windows Display Drivers Installation Notes

READ THIS FILE COMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS PRODUCT !
You must run QUICK SETUP from the Main Menu and select an appropriate
monitor type, prior to installing the Windows Display Drivers.

1.0 Installation Notes for Windows 3.1/3.11 Display Driver
IMPORTANT: This driver will function in Enhanced mode only and requires
Windows 3.1 or Windows for WorkGroups 3.1 or 3.11
1) From the Install Enhanced Drivers menu select Microsoft Windows.
2) To complete the install successfully, you will require the following
information:
a) The full path name for the Windows directory.
3) Select Install Windows 3.1 driver:
a) Select Display Drivers only
- if you have NOT installed Windows based multimedia applications
(e.g. Multimedia CD-ROMS, Video editing packages)
b) Select Display Drivers + Software Mpeg
- if you have installed Windows based multimedia applications
(e.g. Multimedia CD-ROMS, Video editing packages)
4) When INSTALL reports that the driver has been successfully installed,
exit the program.
5) Start Windows and go to the ATI Desktop Group and double click on the
icon to start.
6) Open the FlexDesk+ icon and configure Windows for the desired resolution
and color depth.
For further information regarding the mach64 Windows functions please use
MS Write to read the MACH64.WRI file. This Write file is located in the
ATI\ATIDESK subdirectory (default), if the display driver has been
previously installed.
2.0 Uninstalling the Windows 3.1/3.11
1) From the Install Enhanced Drivers windows select Uninstall Windows 3.1
driver.
2) To complete the uninstall successfully, you will require the following
information:
a) The full path name for the Windows directory.
3) Select Uninstall Windows 3.1 driver.
4) When the uninstall is completed, exit to DOS.
5) Change directory to the Windows directory and run SETUP.
6) Select VGA (640x480 16) or SVGA (800x600, 16) for your display.
3.0 Installing the Windows 95 Driver
Please refer to the readme.w95 file in the WIN95 directory on the Windows 95
disk for further information.
