  2. NCSA DataScope displays 4-byte floating point
  3. data (2D cartesian or polar) in spreadsheet form 
  4. and as a 256-color image.  Data can be used in
  5. analytic equations via a notebook feature, and
  6. user-written subroutines can be applied to the
  7. data via the notebook.

  9. This version of DataScope allows output from
  10. programs on a remote host to be displayed on
  11. DataScope on the Mac (eg, run a program on a
  12. Cray using NCSA Telnet and route the output
  13. to DataScope on the Mac).  Also, user-written
  14. subroutines that reside on a remote host
  15. (eg, a Cray) can be applied to 2D data on the
  16. Macintosh using the notebook.
