  12.     This document is a commentary on current seismic activity.  The 
  13.     earthquakes discussed have been detected and processed 
  14.     automatically.  All epicenters and magnitudes have been reviewed 
  15.     to exclude obvious blunders; however, they must still be 
  16.     considered preliminary.  For further information, please contact

  21.     This week's Report covers the time period from midnight Thursday
  22.     morning, January 5, Pacific Standard Time, to midnight 
  23.     Wednesday night, January 11, 1995, Pacific Standard Time.  We 
  24.     recorded 225 earthquakes of M1.0 or larger during the 7-day period 
  25.     covered.
  26.         We had another very quiet week.  The only quake in our
  27.     area that was felt was M3.0 near Barstow on Friday afternoon.
  28.     With the exception of a M3.7 in Baja, which occurred on Tuesday
  29.     evening, it was also the week's largest event.
  30.         A total of 41% of the week's earthquakes were aftershocks:
  31.     12% from Northridge and 29% from Landers).
  32.         The table lists the quakes this week that were M2.0 or 
  33.     larger in the central part of the coverage area.  Times are local 
  34.     times; if you want Greenwich Mean Time, add 7 hrs to the Pacific 
  35.     Daylight Time or 8 hrs to the Pacific Standard Time listed.
