===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
APT Mailing Assistant
README.DOC
The APT Mailing Assistant for OS/2 is a shareware program that provides
you the capability of printing professional looking envelopes and
labels on your HP compatible laser, Deskjet, or Epson compatible dot
matrix printer that include U.S. Postal Service approved delivery point
POSTNET bar codes to insure speedy and accurate delivery. You can use
the program to print envelopes or labels one at a time as you need them
or to print many envelopes or labels in succession when performing a
bulk mailing for your business or organization. The program's bulk
mailing facility provides the capability to print your permit box on
envelopes created with a laser printer, thus saving you the cost of
pre-printing these envelopes. Delivery point bar codes can save postage
for bulk mailing and presorted first class. Zip code statistics can be
obtained to make bundling of envelopes fast and easy. You can also
print personalized return envelopes to include in your mailing. The
program supports several types of labels for bulk mailing of folders,
etc.
New Function (too late to be included in APTMA2.DOC)
An option is now included on the Import a Text File and Merge options
that allow you to select if you want to confirm duplicate names. If you
check the "Check for Duplicate Names" box, you will be ask what action
to take for each duplicate name discovered during an import or merge.
Not checking the box causes duplicate names to automatically be added
to the address file.
Support has been added for the Dot Matrix 4060 label, size 1 7/16" x 3
1/2".
The files in this package may be freely copied and distributed as
long as all files (including this README.DOC file) are distributed
together. Note, however, that this program is "Shareware" NOT
"Freeware" and has been copyrighted. If you find this program useful
and continue using it, you must register it by completing the
REGISTER.DOC form and sending it to APT Computer Solutions, Inc. at
the address on the form. More information about registration is
included in the REGISTER.DOC file.
