  8. PLACELIST is a simple utility file for viewing and monitoring you
  9. PAF database for inconsistencies in place name entry levels.
  10.  
  11. PLACLIST does not write to or change your data in any way.  Each
  12. RIN# of your data is parsed and all place names entered are displayed
  13. in an easy to read format on the screen and can be written in the same
  14. format to a disk file DATA2.DAT in your data directory for later viewing
  15. with a word processor if desired.  This file can become quite large and
  16. can be up to several times the size of your INDIV2.DAT file.  Be sure you
  17. have plenty of free disk space.  If there are later versions, the option
  18. of save/not save for the disk file may be incorporated.

  20. An option for printer output is offered but I would advise against this
  21. unless you have a very small database.  There could be up to 16 printed
  22. lines for each RIN#.  This could use a LOT of paper.

  24. The following format is a sample of the screen display:

  33. If there are no place names in the RIN# record then that RIN# is not
  34. displayed.  If any field has no name entry, then that level above is left
  35. blank.

  37. Display is one screen at a time with keyboard input to continue to the
  38. next screen.  If printer output is selected, then there is no keyboard
  39. input necessary,  the display will scroll continuous with a screen clear
  40. and reprint of the heading at every 19 lines.  The display will slow down
  41. to the speed the printer will accept the data.  With a large printer buffer,
  42. or a print spooler, the data will scroll by quite fast.

  44. PLACELIST is as very simple program that may be of assistance to you
  45. in your PAF maintenance.  PLACELIST is released as Freeware and may
  46. be freely distributed.
