Introduction to the Customized Integrated Spelling and
Phonetical Library (CISPL).
The CISPL has been in use in Colorado School Districts
since 1988 where they have been found to be very successful
in helping children learn to spell and read. Furthermore
the operation of these programs are so easy that first
graders easily master them after only a few minutes.
And now that they are available to the public, they
have also been made to work with many different sound
devices. With the sound devices you can record your own
voice to the words or purchase voice files.
However, the CISPL contains many features which make
it much more than just another published spelling program
restricted to one preselected word lists. The CISPL can
incorporate any words, especially your child's or students'
spelling words, when you order the CUSTOMIZER program.
All of the seven programs available in the Customized
Integrated Spelling and Phonetical Library (CISPL); ANTS,
CUSTOMIZER, CUSTOM SPELL, SAVE THE GATOR, SCRAMBLE,
SEAWORD, and WORDFIND, provide instructional variety that
help your child master the basic phonetical rules of
reading and spelling, do extremely well on their weekly
spelling tests, and also entertain them. Print OVER.DOC
for overview of all seven programs.
All the programs have networkable versions. The
networkable versions can manage up to 45 teachers and each
teacher may have as many as 60 lists. These lists can be
utilized in all of the spelling programs. A major network
advantage of these programs is that you can quickly
preselect the program set-up options at ONE workstation for
all the workstations.

Introduction to ANTS:
ANTS is a graphic game where the child unscrambles
spelling words by controlling an animated ant. The object
of the game is to drag the letters into anthills and spell
a specific word. The letters for that word are scattered
at random across the computer's screen. Letters are
snatched by the ant's pincers and then dragged into
anthills. If the word is spelled before time runs out, Ant
City is built. If the word is not spelled before time runs
out, a gigantic tennis shoe comes crashing down and ...,
well let's just say the ant isn't too happy with your
ability to spell. ANTS uses the same word lists as CUSTOM
SPELL. It may be helpful to run the program at the same
time as you read this manual.

Run Commands for ANTS
Type ANTS to run program ANTS.
___________________________________________________________
To Begin ANTS
1. Enter the number of words you want to use in the
program.
2. If you have a sound device, you will be asked if you
want to have the word spoken first. Of course it
is more of a challenge if you don't have the word
spoken
3. At the next screen you have the following options:
A. If you already know how to play ANTS, drag the
"Y" down into the anthill to begin play
immediately.
B. Press the F1 key if you want directions.
C. Wait 15 seconds for directions.

To Play ANTS
1. Move the ant using the four cursor arrow keys or the
mouse. (It is easier to control the ant using the
four cursor arrow keys)
2. Pick up a letter by positioning the ant just below
the letter and pressing the space bar or a mouse
button once. Pressing the space bar or a mouse
button a second time will cause the ant to release
the letter.
3. Move the ant and the letter all the way down into an
empty anthill. If the letter is inserted into
correct anthill, it will remain. If the letter is
inserted into the wrong anthill, it will pop back to
its original position.
4. If the word is spelled before the ant timeline
expires, the ant goes to Ant City and the Ant Speed
increases, giving you les
