- RIP Sketch Revision History
-
-
- Version 1.10
- ------------
-
- RIP Sketch now has load and save file boxes, making it possible to load and
- save with just the mouse.
-
- RIP Sketch now has screen preparation options in the save box.
-
- The memory management system of RIP Sketch has been completely re-written.
- It will now load RIP files of 100Kb or larger, and accessing memory will be
- faster than it was before.
-
- You can now use the edit button to view and remove anything previously
- drawn in the RIP scene.
-
- RIP Sketch now has an option to show the mouse X and Y coordinates when
- in the drawing screen.
-
- RIP Sketch now has a zoom option to see what is around the mouse cursor
- close up.
-
- RIP Sketch now supports creating and displaying buttons, with many options.
-
- A RIP 1.54 compatible filled poly-bezier option has replaced the flood
- fill option, because the RIPscrip 2.0 standard will not support flood fills.
- This option works much like the filled polygon option, except that the
- space bar or middle mouse button toggles the bezier functions on and off.
-
- Added the /F option for those who really want flood fills instead of a
- filled poly-bezier.
-
- Fixed the problem of undoing the clipboard when it was defined more than
- once in the RIP scene.
-
- The clipboard now can be created larger than it was previously.
-
- Fixed a problem of saving the clipboard to disk as an icon.
-
- Added support for text variables. RIP Sketch will now display some RIP
- text variables in display text fields and button labels.
-
- Fixed a cosmetic bug with the RGB selection bars.
-
- Fixed problem with the copy up/down command with it being one pixel off
- when copying down.
-
- There is now a whirling cursor when entering text, making it easier to
- see that text needs to be entered.
-
- The RIPscrip lines will not be split up as much when saving files.
-
- Fixed the problem of the RIP sound effects playing too fast on fast computers.
-
- RIP Sketch will now use more efficient RIP code for the RIP sound effects.
-
- The /C switch has changed slightly. It will now resize the entire RIP file.
- Not using this switch will cause RIP Sketch to reduce the size of some RIP
- files, making them more efficient.
-
- When changing a user defined pattern, RIP Sketch will now automatically
- switch the setting to the user defined pattern.
-
- Several other minor changes.
-
-
- Version 1.04
- ------------
-
- Fixed some minor bugs with the copy up/down command.
-
- Added keyboard short cuts for the menu commands. 'L' for load, 'S'
- for save, etc... Note 'H' is for show since 'S' already used by save.
- Also 'T' will toggle the screen.
-
- RIP Sketch now continues processing a RIP even after a |# RIP command,
- and no longer deletes the information after it.
-
- Fixed a very rare bug that would sometimes remove a ! in the beginning of
- a line when saving a file.
-
- Changed the palette selection to a much easier RGB selection for redefining
- the color palette.
-
- A math co-processor is no longer supported because the extra overhead had
- caused the Bezier curves to go too slow with out one. Note: Bezier curves
- are now drawn real time if a 386 or better processor is present.
-
- Fixed another bug with redefining the palette when loading or viewing RIPs.
-
- Added delay option for viewing. /V1 for the shortest delay, /V9 for the
- longest delay.
-
- Added a mouse compatibility option for some mice that didn't work correctly
- with RIP Sketch. If RIP Sketch can not detect your mouse, or the mouse
- pointer does not appear, or is not drawn correctly, try the /M option. It
- will only give you a regular cross hair mouse pointer, but it should work.
-
- Added a command line option /L for left hand mouse. This will reverse the
- functions of the left and right mouse buttons.
-
- RIP Sketch will now display ASCII text in the text window (if defined) in
- five different font sizes. If you do not want to see the text in the text
- window, use the /NT command line switch.
-
- Added a new command to load text from a file and place it on the screen.
-
- RIP sound effects are now supported. If you have an Adlib or compatible
- sound card, the sounds will be played through it instead of the PC speaker.
-
- Several other minor bug fixes.
-
-
- Version 1.03
- ------------
-
- Fix a bug that sometimes prevented palette color changes when viewing and
- displaying RIPs.
-
- Small and tight Bezier curves are now much easier to draw. The boxes
- now adjust their size according to the size of the curve. The curve is
- drawn in real time if a 80287 or better co-processor is present. The space
- bar will temporarily hide the boxes for viewing. Also, when moving a
- box, only that box is shown.
-
- There is a new configuration option for line length. RIPs can be saved
- from 39 to 200 characters in length. The default length is 72. To add
- this feature, delete RSKETCH.CFG and execute RIP Sketch.
-
- Added a new RIP command to copy a region of the screen up or down. Very
- large areas of the screen can be copied almost instantaneously without
- using the clipboard.
-
- Improved the Undo option. Undo will now undo an object or group of
- objects, even after clicking to the menu screen and back.
-
-
- Version 1.02
- ------------
-
- RIP Sketch now doubles as a command line viewer! To view files, use
- /V filename to view. Wildcards are allowed.
-
- A new command line option has been added, /C, for compatibility
- mode. This was added for some viewers which couldn't handle the
- efficient files that RIP Sketch generated. RIP files created
- when using this option will be 5-10% larger than without it.
-
- The font box is now bigger to hold the two new larger fonts. RIP
- Sketch now has all eleven RIPscrip fonts.
-
- Fixed bug which was removing blank lines from text in a RIP file, and
- skipping the first line of RIPscrip after following the blank lines.
-
- Discovered that when drawing filled polygons when the draw color is
- black, the lines shouldn't be drawn. (because of a bug in the graph
- unit) RIP Sketch will now not draw these when making filled polygons.
-
-
- Version 1.01
- ------------
-
- Added four new fonts.
-
- Changed some of the mouse routines to work better with some mice that
- were having problems.
-
-
- Version 1.00
- ------------
-
- First Public release of RIP Sketch.
