  55. Micrometric Beta test version are normally designed for the use of REGISTERED 
  56. USERS ONLY, unless it is otherwise noted as an OPEN TEST. Unregistered users 
  57. who wish to use beta versions, other than those that are OPEN TEST, must first 
  58. contact Micrometric, (813) 377-2515, for both permission and the necessary key.

  60. Beta test versions should not be downloaded by users to BBS's, other than the 
  61. MIcrometric support BBS, or shared with others without permission. They are 
  62. meant only for use by registered users or others specified by Micrometric. 
  63.  
  64. Micrometric Beta versions are time dependent. Each will expire after several 
  65. months. 
  66.  
  67. Beta file names are different than the normal release file name (XXXXLvvv.ZIP 
  68. rather than XXXX@vvv,ZIP, where L is the Beta release identifier), but the 
  69. installation instructions are the same as a normal release.

  84. The following generalized procedure is recommended for running any Beta Test
  85. Version: 
  86.  
  87. 1. Off of the directory that contains the current version of the program, "XX", 
  88.    create a new directory, "XX-CUR" or some such. 
  89.  
  90. 2. Also create another new directory is the same manner, named "XX-BETA". The 
  91.    directory structure should now look something like:
  92.  
  93. C:\────┐
  94.        ├─XX────┐
  95.                ├XX-CUR
  96.                └XX-BETA
  97.  
  98. 3. COPY all of the current version "XX" files to the directory "...\XX-CUR". 
  99.  
  100. 4. Copy the Beta files from diskette (or unZip it, if downloaded from a BBS) to 
  101.    the directory where the current "XX" version had been. 
  102.  
  103. 5. To switch from the Beta to the released versions, move the Beta files from 
  104.    "\XX" to "\XX\XX-BETA" and then move the released files from "\XX\XX-CUR" to 
  105.    "\XX".

  109. Although enhancements to future software releases may have been discussed 
  110. verbally or in writing, there is no assurance by Micrometric that any specific 
  111. enhancement will appear in a specific release, or, for that matter, will ever 
  112. appear in a Micrometric software release. Even when an enhancement appears in a 
  113. Beta level program release, there is no guarantee that the enhancement will 
  114. appear in that form, or any form, in the final software release.
