  3. Welcome to CD-ROMIX!
  4.

  6. We want you to have the best experience possible with
  7. CD-ROMIX!, so we've included the following information
  8. to help you out:
  9.  
  10. There are two versions of CD-ROMIX! on your disc: MPC I
  11. and MPC II.  The "MPC I" version is for 16-color VGA systems
  12. and may be played on a 386 processor with a single-speed
  13. CD-ROM. The "MPC II" version is for 256-color Super VGA
  14. systems and generally requires a 486 (or 33 MHz or faster
  15. 386) processor and a double-speed CD-ROM drive.

  17. If you're not sure what kind of system you have, we
  18. recommend that you select the "MPC II" version. If you
  19. experience any problems, restart the program by typing
  20. SETUP at the DOS prompt and select the "Quick Setup:
  21. MPC I" version.

  25. If the program freezes when you first try to run it, you may
  26. have selected the incorrect settings for your sound card.
  27. Type SETUP from the DOS prompt and select "Custom Setup" to
  28. change your sound settings. (Check your sound card manual
  29. for information on how to test your sound card settings.)

  31. If you see a memory message or INIT ERROR, you should check
  32. your conventional memory. The minimum amount recommended to
  33. run CDROMIX! is 520,000 bytes.  Free up memory by
  34. eliminating memory resident programs (i.e. menu programs,
  35. screen savers, virus scanners, DOS Shell) or use a boot
  36. disk. See DOS manual for details on creating boot disks.

  40. When switching between scenes, you may notice a delay while
  41. the new screen is being loaded. The length of the delay will
  42. depend on the speed of your CD-ROM drive.

  44. The hot keys listed on the menu screen are active only
  45. during the playing of the story.
  46.  
  47. CDROMIX! is divided into 12 segments represented on the
  48. "Go to scene".  The arrow keys and space bar will move you
  49. to the start of the segment.

  51. In addition to viewing the graphics, you can always put the
  52. CD-ROMIX! disc into your audio CD player, select track 2,
  53. and sit back and enjoy the exciting sound track.
