Scenes like this were common in many ports in the Maritime Provinces until the 1920's. This photograph was taken in Liverpool, N.S. before 1912. The vessels are loading timber from flatcars. Three tern schooners are shown in the foreground. The schooner next to the wharf is the Georgina Roop built at Granville Ferry by Pickels and Mills in 1906. The schooner in the middle is the Laura, built at Liverpool, N.S. in 1901 by Jason Gardner.
The Laura was transferred to Bridgetown, Barbados in 1912. The Georgina Roop was rebuilt in 1918, renamed Pineland later sold to Estonians and renamed Argo.
