  4. 2.  Caulking Irons - for putting oakum in the seams of the hull after the hull had been planked.

  7. 5.  Small serving mallet used by a sailmaker. 
  8. 6.  Auger - for boring holes in the wood. 
  9. 7.  Wooden Block plane.

  12. 10. Adze - a tool similar to an axe with an arched blade at right angles to the handle. 
  13. 11. Fid - a wooden taper for forcing strands of rope apart when splicing. 
  14. 12. Sailors' palm - used by sailmakers. 
  15. 13. Large set of dividers - for measuring off distance. 
  16. 14. A heart - used in rigging for setting up stays.
  17. 15. Wooden rigging block - note the grooves in the side of the wood for the rope strop. 
  18. 16. Bevel - a tool used for setting off angles.
