Fluted Point Culture Artifacts from Adjacent Provinces and States.
On the far left the two spearheads (A and B) and the square tipped drill (C) are plastic replicas of tools from a site in northwestern Maine 21 km south of the QuÄbec border, although the stone from which B and C were fashioned occurs only 8km south of the same border. Such proximity to the province strongly suggests that it is only a matter of time before Fluted Point culture sites are discovered in southern QuÄbec. Figure D is a spearhead from New Brunswick manufactured from a distinctive stone found in northern Maine. Specimens E to M were recovered from a major Fluted Point culture campsite in Nova Scotia and consist of spearheads (E and F), a large knife (G), a graver (H), end scrapers (I to K) including one with lateral graver spurs, a side scraper (L), and a specialized type of cutting and scraping tool (M). From west of Toronto, specimens N to P illustrate, in alphabetic order from early to late, changing spearhead styles.
