B. Pottery smoking pipes. The specimen to the right, courtesy of the McCord Museum, McGill University, was recovered in the nineteenth century from an archaeological site on the university campus which is believed to be the village of Hochelaga visited by Jacques Cartier in 1535 or a sister village.
C. Barbed bone and triangular stone arrowheads.
D. Polished stone adze. Hafted to a wooden handle such tools were used to fell trees and fashion wooden implements.
E. Grinding stone. The stone muller, flat on both faces, was used to crush and grind dried corn into flour. The corn would be placed on a large stone mortar or metate during this process.
F. Soapstone disc beads.
