  1. Chair of the "New England" Type.

  3.       This kitchen chair with feet and uprights smoothly turned, for the most part, made up part of the marriage furniture in the regions of Chambly, Vercheres, Richelieu and lberville around the middle of the 19th century. Closely related to Shaker chairs in New York State these chairs, nevertheless, are similar in construction to chairs typical of Quebec.
