Eager to help in any way they could to win the war, some Canadians enthusiastically volunteered their time and energy for the cause. To help raise money for the war and to entertain Canadian servicemen, amateur performing groups gave thousands of concerts.
Telephone operators by day and entertainers by night, these MontrÄal women donned their tap shoes in support of the war effort. Employees of the Bell Telephone Company, the Blue Bell Bullets had a repertoire ranging from drama to comedy and from waltz to swing.
