Archaeological finds from the Cow Point site illustrate the wide range of implements and ornamental objects that are characteristics of the Maritime Archaic culture. Shown here are:

A wide range of woodworking implements, such as gouges and adzes, are commonly associated with Archaic sites. This is an indication of the extensive use that was being made of wood as a construction material 3 500 years ago. Most of the organic materials, such as bone and wood, were not recovered at Cow Point, but at a similar site at Port-au-Choix in Newfoundland, bone was used extensively for fashioning fishing and hunting tools, ornaments, including combs, amulets and other carved and decorated objects. A similar level of technology could be expected at Cow Point.
