  1. Queen Elizabeth Continues the Tradition.

  3.      On July 11, 1970 at The Pas, Manitoba, Queen Elizabeth presented medals to 57 chiefs of the Manitoba Indian Brotherhood. Although Indian Chief Medals have been struck in Britain since 1714, this marks the first occasion on which a Sovereign has personally presented them. Receiving a medal is David Courchene (left), President of the Brotherhood.
