During the summer, the Copper Eskimo lived in lightweight, skin tents such as the one seen in the background. As wooden poles for supporting the structure were difficult to find, they were usually carried about from place to place. Some of the food that was obtained from the intensive hunting and fishing activity was preserved for later use.
