These colourful leggings are made from tanned, unsmoked skin and have painted designs and porcupine quillwork. The fronts are painted with tadpole designs and blotches of orange paint; the backs have transverse bands in dark brown. A strip of heavy tanned skin, covered with porcupine quills in band technique and rosettes, is attached down the outer leg. Some of the quills were dyed red and turquoise and flattened before being worked into the design patterns.
