This photograph illustrates the type of jobbing work that until fairly recently occupied the smaller Canadian printers. The poster is for a land sale in 1877 and was done by "The British Canadian Cheap Job Printing Establishment" at Simcoe, Ontario. Like most posters it was quite large, over two feet high, and obviously it was printed on a Washington Press, the only reasonably-priced machine for printing large sheets. Also illustrated are large wooden letters used in printing such work.
