Here the metal trades unions were having troubles of their own. When the Winnipeg Strike broke out, many workers voted to join in sympathy and the city experienced a short-lived general strike of its own, other cities followed the Calgary example and workers throughout the country were soon striking in sympathy with their fellows in Winnipeg.
