Once it has been dynamited, the ore is loaded onto a dump truck with a crane. The unprocessed rock will then be transported to a mill where it will be pulverized and then sifted to separate the asbestos from impurities. Refined asbestos, which has a cotton-like appearance, is put into bags for shipping. Apart from the noise and the smell of gasoline, the working conditions are acceptable. But during bagging, the effect of asbestos dust particles suspended in the air, combined with the poor ventilation of the work-site make working conditions dangerously unhealthy.
