This view from Fort Henry that guarded the Kingston naval base and the entrance to the Rideau route, shows the citizens of the town enjoying a summer stroll beside their harbour. The canal is not yet finished, but it is very plain how much Kingston has grown since Mrs. Simcoe's sketch of 1796.
