One of the fine new edifces built at York after the war was Judge D'Arcy Boulton's dignified brick residence. Other members of the dominant Tory official group at the capital also built handsome residences around the turn of the 1820s such as Dr. John Strachan (later Anglican Bishop of Toronto) and Chief Justice Sir William Campbell, whose home is also still in existence, though moved from its original site. Boulton's home, "The Grange" is now at the core of the Art Gallery of Ontario.
