In 1860, the nineteen year old Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, visited Canada. He established the prestige of the railways when he formally completed the Victoria Tubular Bridge by driving home the last rivet. His train, made entirely in Canada by Canadian craftsmen, carried him on his journey through the colony. Here is the schedule of his trip from Toronto to London.
