"Emigrants Arrive at Cork - A scene on the Quay" Illustrated London News.
This sketch, also in the May 10, 1851 issue of the Illustrated London News shows emigrants on the quay at Cork, one of the major emigrant ports of Ireland. This party had travelled 100 miles to Cork. From the moment of their arrival, before they have unpacked their cart or had a chance to rest, they are besieged by runners, none too scrinpinloins, seeking business for hostels or shipping lines.
