Aboriginal Obsidian Quarry Workshop, Mount Edziza Area.
Black and shiny objects around the figure are obsidian flakes and core fragments left by prehistoric tool makers at this site located at 2,000 m elevation. Edziza obsidian was exploited as early as 10,000 years ago, and by 5,000 years ago it was being traded to coastal and interior sites as much as 800 km distant from the source.
