This type of low buffet with two doors and two drawers is probably the piece of furniture mentioned most frequently during the first half of the 18th century. Usually kept in the kitchen, it was used for the storage of utensils, food, table accessories. It is also the basic element of the china cabinet or sideboard, when a shelf is added, and of the two-tiered buffet when a second part is placed on top of it. The panel doors are decorated with diamond points and its locks, knobs, and pegs are of forged iron. One can still discern traces of the original paint.
