The London Hunt Club (now the London Hunt and Country Club) was organized about 1885, but traces its origins to the competitive interest in riding and the breeding of good hunter-type stock exhibited by the British garrisons stationed in the town from the late 1830s. This original club site is now part of the University of Western Ontario campus "Glenmore", the clubhouse, was situated high on the hill to the south of the six-acre (2.4 hectaresj property, and is the site of the Canadian Government's Agriculture Research Institute. This lithograph was produced by the Toronto Lithographing Company and issued with the Christmas issue of the London Advertiser.
