In April, 1906, 1,500 businessmen and municipal officials from Toronto and southern Ontario demonstrated before the provincial Legislature in favour of government ownership of at least part of the hydroelectrical system of generation, transmission and distribution. They met first at Toronto City Hall, then marched to the Legislature. This photo appeared in The Globe, Toronto, on April 21, 1906.
