Three of the most famous Red Mountains mines, probably around 1907. On the left is the Josie Mine, above the War Eagle with the Le Roi Mine, compressor plant and ore bins to the right. The railway in the foreground is the Red Mountain Railway. Note the denuding of the mountain of forest cover. Large amounts of timber were, of course, used for shoring underground. The house in the foreground is typical of contemporary mine housing.
