  7. DPlot        A simple display program for experimental data, with the
  8.         goals of supporting paging through lots of data and 
  9.         providing comfortable scaling and presentation.  This is
  10.         version 2.0, an update to version 1.0 on disk 237, and
  11.         incorporates several significant enhancements.  Binary
  12.         only.

  15. IPC        An IPC (Inter-Process Communication) package, with the
  16.         goal of creating a standard for IPC on the Amiga that
  17.         is flexible enough to handle the widest possible range
  18.         of applications.  The protocol used addresses different
  19.         problem areas than ARexx, and emphasizes different aspects
  20.         of the communication process, such as fast communication
  21.         and preservation of data structure.  Includes source.

  24. KillReq        A small program which disables Intuition's AutoRequest
  25.         function.  In particular, this prevents AmigaDOS from
  26.         putting up system requesters, which is useful if you are
  27.         operating your Amiga remotely and can't use the mouse to
  28.         click CANCEL.  Unlike similar utilities which affect only
  29.         a single CLI, KillReq disables ALL requesters.  This is
  30.         version 1.0 and includes C source.

  33. Xicon        Xicon lets you use icons to call up scripts containing CLI
  34.         commands.  This is version 2.5, an update to version 2.01
  35.         on disk 157.  New features include automatic selection of
  36.         the correct execution directory, the option to have
  37.         keyboard interaction, and the use of IF, ELSE, etc DOS
  38.         commands.  Binary only.

  54. Keyboard    Functions to translate RAWKEY Intuition messages into

  58. Sim        A simulator for register-transfer nets, which are used to
  59.         describe hardware systems.  This version also provides
  60.         a compiler to define new devices in addition to Sim's
  61.         internal devices.  This is version 4.2, an update to
  62.         version 4.0 on disk  229.  Binary only.

  65. SKsh        A ksh-like shell for the Amiga.  Some of its features
  66.         include command substitution, shell functions with
  67.         parameters, aliases, local variables, local functions,
  68.         local aliases, powerful control structures and tests,
  69.         emacs style line editing and history functions, I/O
  70.         redirection, pipes, large variety of built-in commands,
  71.         Unix style wildcards, Unix style filename conventions,
  72.         filename completion, and coexistence with scripts from
  73.         other shells.  Very well documented.  Version 1.2, an
  74.         update to version 1.0 on disk 279, where it was called
  75.         ash.  Binary only.

  84. Devstat        Assembly code example of locating and listing information
  85.         about all mounted devices.  Includes source.

  88. FileRequest    Assembly code example of a file requester.  This is
  89.         version 2.0, an update to version 1.0 on disk 173, where
  90.         it was called FileSelect.  New features include 3 speed
  91.         scrolling of filenames and ghosting of unavailable
  92.         devices.  Includes source.

  95. MultiPlot    A package for making 2D plots conveniently.  Tim Mooney
  96.         wrote the original program, which was then enhanced by
  97.         Alan Baxter with a nicer user interface, support for
  98.         the PLT: device, and support for file conversions.  Rich
  99.         Champeaux and Jim Miller wrote the PLT: handler which
  100.         emulates a plotter by accepting HP-GL commands, creating
  101.         a raster image, then dumping it to any preferences supported
  102.         graphics printer.  This is version XLN and includes source
  103.         to MultiPlot.  Update to version 1.2 on disk 231, where it
  104.         was called just "Plot".  This version is 2D only.

  121. CrcLists    Complete CRC check files for disks 001-292 using the brik
  122.         program.  These were made directly from my master disks.
  123.         I have switched to brik, from the crc program used to make
  124.         the lists on disks 133, 146, and 173, because it has more
  125.         features and because source is available.  This is an
  126.         update to the lists on disk 233.

  135. DNet        A link protocol that provides essentially an unlimited
  136.         number of reliable connections between processes on
  137.         two machines, where each end of the link can be
  138.         either an Amiga or a Unix (BSD4.3) machine.  Works
  139.         on the Amiga with any EXEC device that looks like the
  140.         serial.device.  Works on UNIX with tty and socket
  141.         devices.  Achieves better than 95% average throughput
  142.         on file transfers.  This is version 2.10.13, an update
  143.         to version 2.0 released on disk 220.  Includes sources
  144.         for both the Amiga and Unix versions.

  147. FmsDisk        A file based trackdisk simulator, useful for creating
  148.         a floppy-like partition on your hard disk (so you can
  149.         diskcopy to a floppy) without actually having to create
  150.         a special partition for it.  Also useful for testing
  151.         new filesystems and such.  Supports up to 32 units,
  152.         with either the old filesystem or the new fast filesystem.

  162. GnuGrep        The grep program from the GNU project.  Replaces grep
  163.         fgrep, egrep, and bmgrep.  Currently does not expand
  164.         Amiga style wildcards, so if you wish to scan multiple
  165.         files you will need to use it with a shell that does this
  166.         for you.  This is version 1.5, an update to version 1.3
  167.         on disk 204.  Includes source.

  170. Lhwarp        A program which will read tracks directly from your floppy
  171.         disk, compress them using adaptive huffman encoding, and
  172.         output them to a file.  The resulting file can be used by
  173.         lhwarp to reconstruct an image of the original disk.  This
  174.         is version 1.03 and includes source.

  177. MandelMountains
  178.         A program that renders three-dimensional images of
  179.         blowups of the Mandelbrot set.  Includes several example

  189. Comal        Demo of AmigaCOMAL (missing only SAVE), an incremental
  190.         p-code compiler from Denmark.  COMAL is a language with
  191.         the design goal of combining the modern structured
  192.         approach of Pascal with the ease of use and interactivity
  193.         of BASIC.  There are versions of COMAL for IBM, VAX, CP/M,
  194.         C-64, Amiga and various European operating systems.
  195.         Includes a complete turtle graphics package.  Is perfect
  196.         for education yet powerful enough for applications
  197.         programming.  Version 2.0, binary only.

  201. Patch        A port of the very useful UNIX utility which applies context
  202.         diffs to text files to automatically update them.  This is a

  205.         version on disk 129.  Includes source.

  219. DevKit        A collection of C and ARexx language programs to
  220.         facilitate the software development process.  With
  221.         DevKit, you can launch your compiler from within your
  222.         editor, have the cursor positioned on your errors, look
  223.         up the autodoc page for any Amiga function at a single
  224.         keystroke, find a system structure within the include
  225.         files, or find any function in the code you are writing.

  229. Elements    Very nice interactive display of the the Periodic Table 
  230.         of Elements.  Can display a large amount of pertinent
  231.         data about a selected element along with a good deal of 
  232.         general and miscellaneous info.  This is version 1.3,
  233.         an update to version 1.2a on disk 253.  It adds a non-
  234.         interlace mode and extend selection of two elements.

  238. Hypno        A "bouncing polygons" type program like Mackie, LineArt,
  239.         and Bezier.  Includes source in C.

  242. Jed        A nicely done, intuition-based editor that is quite
  243.         user-friendly.  Features word-wrap, auto-indent, newcli,
  244.         alt buffer, split-window, keyboard macro, help, printing,
  245.         and more.  This is version 1.1, an update to version 1.0
  246.         on disk 180.  Shareware, binary only.

  249. SuperMenu    An information display system you can use to quickly and
  250.         easily display text files (and sections of text files) with

  266.         that allows you to load, save, and analyze any bootblock.
  267.         This is version 3.21, an update to version 3.1 on disk
  268.         244.  New features include checks for five different LAMER
  269.         viruses and some other enhancements.  Binary only.

  272. DClock        A "Dumb Clock" utility that displays the date and time in
  273.         the Workbench screen title bar.  Uses only about 2 percent
  274.         of the CPU time and about 10Kb of memory.  Also has an
  275.         alarm clock feature and audible beep for programs that
  276.         call DisplayBeep.  Version 1.5, includes source.

  279. Fenster        A program which can operate on windows owned by another
  280.         program, to close them, change their size, refresh gadgets,
  281.         move the window to the background, etc.  This is version

  285. FileMaster    A file editor like NewZap or FedUp, which allows you to
  286.         manipulate bytes of a file.  You may also change the file

  302.         to implement a complete, robust ARexx interface with

  306. SceneGenDemo    Demo of a program called Scene Generator, that generates
  307.         very realistic looking landscapes.  This program is an
  308.         enhanced, low cost commercial version, of the Scenery

  313. Yacc        This is a port of Berkeley Yacc for the Amiga.  This
  314.         Yacc has been made as compatible as possible with the
  315.         AT&T Yacc, and is completely public domain.  Note that
  316.         it is NOT the so-called Decus Yacc, which is/was simply
  317.         a repackaging of the proprietary AT&T Yacc.  Amiga
  318.         version 1.0a, includes source.
