  5. This file lists significant changes since the last FreshFish CD-ROM, except
  6. for the usual and expected differences like all the new material submitted
  7. since the last FreshFish CD-ROM and updates to the useful material that is
  8. included with each release.

  11. BSD tree

  14. The BSD tree is now gone.  The parts of it that were still interesting
  15. were integrated into the GNU tree.

  18. Changes in Useful tree
  19. ======================

  21. We have eliminated the "dist" directory level and moved all the directories
  22. that were in "dist" into the root directory of the useful tree.  We have
  23. also moved the contents of the "Catalogs" and "Reviews" directories into
  24. an appropriate subdirectory in the useful tree.

  27. Two-CD set

  30. The most obviously visible change is that we have gone to a two-CD set
  31. format for this and future FreshFish CD's.
  32.  
  33. After completing volume 7, we realized that we were rapidly running out of
  34. room on a single CD.  Since we have plans to greatly expand the amount of
  35. material in the "GNU" and "Useful" portions of the FreshFish CD, as well as
  36. continue to add more material to the "New" section, we decided to expand the
  37. FreshFish CD's to a two-CD set.  Although these two CD's contain over 1 Gb
  38. total of material, with room to expand by several hundred megabytes, there
  39. is also about 150 Mb of material in the BBS section from previous FreshFish
  40. CD's, that can be eliminated if necessary from future CD's.  This should
  41. give us room to grow for at least another year or so.

  44. New AmigaGuide files
  45. ====================

  47. We have included some new, automatically generated, AmigaGuide files in
  48. the root directories of the major sections of this cd (BBS, GNU, New,
  49. Useful), that should make it easier to simply browse the CD contents
  50. from WorkBench.  For serious searches for specific material, we still
  51. recommend KingFisher.
