  18. This package contains the ftnright style option which defines a layout
  19. where all footnotes are placed in the second column of a two-column
  20. spec.  It was designed to work with the standard twocolumn option of
  21. LaTeX.  Note, that is doesn't work in combination with the multicol
  22. option.

  25. You should get the following files:
  26.  
  27.  
  28.   ftnright.doc     Main style file with macros and documentation
  29.                    for the ftnright implementation.
  30.                    
  31.   install.mz6      This is the installation script that will produce
  32.                    the executable files in this package and the driver
  33.            files for the documentation.
  34.  
  35.   readme.mz        File that describes distribution restrictions and 
  36.                    gives a short overview about other distributions 
  37.                    from Mainz.
  38.  
  39.   readme.mz6       This file.
  40.

  42. To produce the executable files please run install.mz6 through LaTeX or
  43. TeX, i.e., say
  44.  
  45.    latex install.mz6
  46.  
  47. or whatever is necessary to run process a file with LaTeX on your
  48. system.  This will generate all necessary files. If you already have
  49. older versions of the files, the script will ask whether or not you
  50. want to overwrite those versions. Note, that the script calls
  51. docstrip.tex internally which is distributed in the doc package (MZ0).

  53. This script will generate the following files:
  54.  
  55.   ftnright.sty    The ftnright option for LaTeX.
  56.   ftnright.drv    The driver file for the documentation.
  57.  
  58.  
  59. To produce the documentation files run the corresponding driver files
  60. through LaTeX.  You are allowed to change the driver files to get a
  61. special layout, etc.  To get an index and history listing run the idx
  62. and glo files through the program MAKEINDEX.  MAKEINDEX should be part
  63. of every LaTeX installation.
  64.  
  65. Please note that you need to specify a style file for MAKEINDEX:
  66.  
  67.    gind.ist   for the index file   (result should be named *.ind)
  68.    gglo.ist   for the history file (result should be named *.gls)
  69.  
  70. Sample invocation for Unix:
  71.  
  72.    makeindex -s gind.ist ftnright
  73.    makeindex -s gglo.ist -o ftnright.gls ftnright.glo
  74.  
  75. The \fileversion and \filedate lines below are generated so that you can
  76. easily check differences to your version by using diff etc.
