  15. Distributions from Mainz:

  17. MZ0:  doc              The doc-option and the docstrip program which are
  18.                        used by most other packages.
  19.  
  20. MZ1:  multicol         Contains the multicolumn-option.
  21.                        Needs MZ0 for unpacking and documentation.
  22.  
  23. MZ2:  theorem          Contains the theorem enhancements for LaTeX.
  24.                        Needs MZ0 for unpacking and documentation.

  26. MZ3:  fontsel          The new fontselection scheme for LaTeX. It will 
  27.                        become part of LaTeX 3. 
  28.                        Needs MZ0 for unpacking and documentation.

  30. MZ4:  verbatim         A new implementation of verbatim with some
  31.                        additional features. 
  32.                        Needs MZ0 for unpacking and documentation.

  34. MZ5:  array            Enhanced version of LaTeX's tabular and array

  37.                        Carlisle.

  44. The distributions mentioned above are distributed as packages each
  45. including a second README file, for example `readme.mz1', that lists
  46. all files included in the package.

  48. Please do not request updates from us.  Distribution is done only
  49. through mail servers and TeX organisations.

  52. Distribution of unchanged versions:
  53.   
  54.   You are NOT ALLOWED to take money for the distribution or use of
  55.   these files except for a nominal charge for copying etc.

  57.   Redistribution of unchanged files is allowed provided that all files
  58.   listed in the corresponding package README file are distributed
  59.   including this readme file.

  61.   If you receive only some of these files from someone, complain!

  63.   However, if these files are distributed by established suppliers as
  64.   part of a complete TeX distribution, and the structure of the
  65.   distribution would make it difficult to distribute the whole set of
  66.   files, *those parties* are allowed to distribute only some of the
  67.   files provided that it is made clear that the user will get a
  68.   complete distribution-set upon request to that supplier (not me).

  73. Generation and distribution of changed versions:

  75.   The generation of changed versions of the files included in the
  76.   packages is allowed under the following restrictions:

  78.   - You rename the file before you make any changes to it.  
  79.  
  80.   - You acknowledge the origin of the original version in the file and
  81.     keep the information that it (or a changed version) has to be
  82.     distributed under the restrictions mentioned in this file.

  84.   - You change the ERROR REPORT address so that we don't get error
  85.     reports for files *not* maintained by us.

  88.   The distribution of changed versions of the files inluded in the
  89.   packages is allowed under the following restrictions:

  91.   - You provide the user with information how to obtain the original
  92.     package or, even better, distribute it with your files.

  94.   - You make sure that the changed versions contain a notice that
  95.     prevents others to take money for distribution or use of your
  96.     files, i.e. they have to be distributed under the restrictions

  103. Error reports:

  105.   Before you report an error please check that
  106.  
  107.   - the error is not already mentioned in the *.bug file of the
  108.     distribution. (In this case it is a feature :-)

  110.   - the error isn't caused by obsolete versions of other software;
  111.     LaTeX from 1986 is a good candidate ...

  113.   - you use an original version of the package.
  114.  
  115.  
  116.   If you think you found a genuine bug please report it together
  117.   with the following information:

  119.   - version of the file
  120.  
  121.   - version (date!) of your LaTeX
  122.  
  123.   - a short test file showing the behavior with all unnecessary
  124.     coding removed.

  126.   - a transcript (log file) of the session that shows the error.

  128. Please note that it is important to make the file as small as possible
  129. to allow us to find and fix the error soon.
