  3. This is disk 340 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library.
  4. Below is a listing of the significant directories and their contents.

  7. NorthC        A complete freely redistributable C environment for the
  8.         Amiga based on the Sozobon Ltd C compiler, Charlie Gibb's
  9.         assembler, the Software Distillery's linker, and portions
  10.         from other sources.  Steve has pulled everything together
  11.         and added some enhancements in the process.  Version 1.0,
  12.         partial source only.

  15. Plplot        A library of C functions useful for scientific plotting
  16.         on the Amiga.  The library is Lattice C compatible.
  17.         Contour plotting, three dimensional plotting, axis
  18.         redefinition, log-log plotting and multiple subpages are
  19.         a few of Plplot's features.  The plots can be displayed
  20.         on a monitor or sent to a graphics file for subsequent
  21.         printing.  This is version 2.6, and update to version 
  22.         1.00 on disk 222.  This version includes a greatly
  23.         improved intuition interface, preferences support for
  24.         hardcopy, several new device drivers, and the capability
  25.         of adding additional device drivers easily. Includes
  26.         source.

  29. SpeakerSim    Demo version of SpeakerSim 2.0, a loudspeaker CAD program.
  30.         Simulates vented (Thiele-Small) and closed box systems.
  31.         Also simulates 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order high and low pass
  32.         filters.  Binary only.

  41. P2C        P2C is a tool for translating Pascal programs into C.
  42.         It handles the following Pascal dialects: HP Pascal,
  43.         Turbo/UCSD Pascal, DEC VAX Pascal, Oregon Software
  44.         Pascal/2, Macintosh Programmer's Workshop Pascal,
  45.         Sun/Berkeley Pascal.  Modula-2 syntax is also supported.
  46.         Most reasonable Pascal programs are converted into fully
  47.         functional C which will compile and run with no further
  48.         modifications.  This is version 1.13 and includes source.

  57. IE        This is an icon editor which can create and modify icons
  58.         up to 640x200 pixels in size (also dual render).  It can
  59.         set stack size, position of icon (also free-floating),
  60.         default tool, 10 tool types and control over opened
  61.         window.  It can also generate the C source code behind the
  62.         icon for program inclusion.  Version 1.0, binary only,
  63.         source available from author.

  66. SKsh        A ksh-like shell for the Amiga.  Some of its features
  67.         include command substitution, shell functions with
  68.         parameters, aliases, local variables, local functions,
  69.         local aliases, powerful control structures and tests,
  70.         emacs style line editing and history functions, I/O
  71.         redirection, pipes, large variety of built-in commands,
  72.         Unix style wildcards, Unix style filename conventions,
  73.         filename completion, and coexistence with scripts from
  74.         other shells.  Very well documented.  Version 1.4, an
  75.         update to version 1.3 on disk 309.  New features include
  76.         a "tiny" version, a working case construct, support for
  77.         resident commands, smaller and faster external commands,
  78.         and more.  Binary only.

  81. Softfont    Converts portrait soft fonts for HP LaserJet compatible
  82.         laser printers to landscape format.  This is an update
  83.         to the version included on disk 327.  Includes source.

  92. SnakePit    A simple, yet addictive game in which you must get the
  93.         snake (you) off of the screen.  There are, however, some
  94.         rough spots and some obstacles that may need to be
  95.         overcome.  An excellent example of a game that is as
  96.         system friendly as possible.  Includes source.

  98.  
  99. SoftSpan    Soft Span BBS program.  Intuitive, command-line based
  100.         menu system with message bases, up/down loads, file
  101.         credit system, extensive help system, etc.  This is
  102.         shareware version 1.0, binary only, lattice C source
  103.         code available from the author.

  106. StockBroker    A program that helps you follow the recent table of
  107.         exchange from one (or more) share(s).  But of course
  108.         you must tell the Amiga the recent table of exchange
  109.         every day.  Requires AmigaBASIC.  Binary only.

  118. Keyboard    Functions to translate RAWKEY Intuition messages into
  119.         usable keycodes. Translation into Modula-2 of C source
  120.         (by Fabbian G. Dufoe, III) on disk 291. Version 1.0.

  124. RKMCompanion    A two disk set of material created by Commodore for use
  125.         with the 1.3 revison of the Amiga ROM Kernel Reference
  126.         Manual, Libraries and Devices, published by Addison-Wesley.
  127.         Almost 300 files, including C source code examples and
  128.         executables, have been packed into two lharc archives,
  129.         one for each disk of the two disk set.  These examples
  130.         are not public domain, but may be used and distributed
  131.         under the conditions specified in the copyrights.

  140. CRobots        A game based on computer programming.  Unlike arcade type
  141.         games which require human input controlling some object,
  142.         all strategy in CRobots is condensed into a C language
  143.         program that you design and write, to control a robot
  144.         whose mission is to seek out, track, and destroy other
  145.         robots, each running different programs.  All robots are
  146.         equally equipped, and up to four may compete at once.
  147.         This is version 2.3w, an update to version 2.2w on disk
  148.         331.  Binary only, source available from author.

  150.  
  151. Du        Prints number of disc blocks used in selected files or
  152.         directories.  Modified from original version on disk 48
  153.         to make output more readable, and handle ^C exit.

  157. GetImage    An enhanced version of "gi" from disk 14.  It now looks
  158.         for the GRAB marker, in the brush file, instead of assuming
  159.         that it is at a specific place, sets up the PlanePick
  160.         value in the Image structure, and deletes any unused
  161.         bitplanes to save memory and disk space.  Includes source.

  163.  
  164. MemFrag        Displays number of memory chunks/sizes to show memory
  165.         fragmentation.  Chunks are displayed as 2**N bytes which is
  166.         a rough guide but still useful.  This is an enhanced version
  167.         of "Frags" from disk 69.  Includes source.

  169.  
  170. Roses        A program that draws sine roses.  Implements an algorithm
  171.         given in the article "A Rose is a Rose ..." by Peter M.
  172.         Maurer in American Mathematical Monthly, Vol 94, No. 7,
  173.         1987, p 631.  A sine rose is a graph of the polar equation
  174.         "r = sin(n*d)" for various values of n and d.

  177. Unshar        This program extracts files from Unix shar archives.  It
  178.         scores over similar programs by being small and fast,
  179.         handling extraction of subdirectories, recognising a wide
  180.         variety of `sed' and `cat' shar formats, and handling large
  181.         files spread across several shar files.  This is version 1.3,
  182.         an update to the version on disk 287.  Includes C source.
