  1. The "cd-roms" directory contains a database of most material on this CD-ROM.
  2. To use it, click on the "FreshFish-May94" icon and then use appropriate
  3. keyword patterns to find the material you are interested in.
  4.  
  5. As an example, the keyword "FreshFish-May94" will find every single
  6. "product" on the CD-ROM for which there is a Product-Info file.  The keyword
  7. "UChess*" will locate versions of the port of GNU chess.
  8.  
  9. The database is generated automatically by using "pitool" to find all
  10. product info files on the CD-ROM.  Then "pi2loaddb" converts the accumulated
  11. product info information into a form that LoadDB understands.  Finally,
  12. LoadDB is run to generate the database.  See the "Makefile" file for
  13. details.

  15. Eventually there will be a complete database of all of my floppy library and
  16. important directories included on this and previous CD-ROM's, using the new
  17. product info specification for gathering the data.  See the file
  18. "Product-Infos" in the "Information" directory on this CD-ROM, for further
  19. information about the product info specification.

  21. This directory also contains databases for previous CD-ROM's.  Hopefully by
  22. the time the next FreshFish CD-ROM comes out, I will have finished a tool
  23. that allows me to automatically merge these databases into a single database
  24. that covers all released CD-ROM's.
