  7. This program calculates VAT. Load it by double-clicking on its icon. It will 
  8. install its icon on the icon bar. Clicking on this will bring up a small 
  9. window where calculations are performed.
  10.  
  11. This window has three writable fields in it. The top one allows you to fill 
  12. in the current VAT rate. This is set to the present one, but can be changed 
  13. by clicking on its writable icon, and changing the figure. If you want this 
  14. change to be permanent, then click MENU, and select "Save VAT Rate" from the 
  15. menu. This will now be the default when you next use this program. This can 
  16. be useful:
  17.    1) if you live outside the UK
  18.    2) if the present level of VAT changes
  19.  
  20. Enter in the cost of an item without VAT added, and underneath will be 
  21. displayed the amount of VAT paid, and the Total amount with VAT added.

  23. If you enter in the Total cost of an item with VAT added, then above it will 
  24. be displayed the VAT paid, and the cost of this item without VAT added.

  26. The calculation is carried out by the user pressing RETURN after a figure has 
  27. been entered into either writable icon. If you enter a Cost price in and press 
  28. RETURN, then the Total will be calculated. Whereas, if you enter in a Total 
  29. and press RETURN, then the Cost price will be calculated.

  31. The caret is automatically placed in the Cost price writable field. Moving it 
  32. up or down with the arrow keys will toggle it between Cost price and Total.
  33. If it is placed in the VAT rate writable icon, then it will be moved to either 
  34. of the other two.
