This directory can contain these user-configurable StrongED files:
The binary 'options' file
The Modes directory with BaseMode and other modes
The ModeWhen file
The FileMenu file
The AutoSave directory
The Bitmaps directory with additional bitmaps
If any of these files exist here, they will override the same file inside the !StrongED.Defaults directory.
When StrongED is started, it looks for this directory in three different places:
First: In the same directory that !StrongED was run from
Second: StrongEDSetting$Dir, if it is set
Last: In Choices$Path
In a network, StrongED and a default !StrED_cfg can now be placed on a common, read-only server. Choices$Path should then first point to the users own Choices catalogue, and secondly to the common one. Choices$Write should be set to the local catalogue. If !StrED_cfg doesn't exist in the local Choices$Write, it will be created.
If you want StrongED to use StrongEDSetting$Dir, you have to set this yourself. !StrED_cfg does not set this when it is 'seen' by the filer or when it is doubleclicked. (This to avoid confusion when you upgrade and have multiple !StrED_cfg directories)
To open this directory, you can hold down SHIFT, and click Select on the StrongED iconbar icon.
