  16. Requirements
  17. ============
  18. Sketch Pad requires at least RISC OS 3.10, 160k of memory at start up, and
  19. the toolbox modules, which are supplied with this. It works on the Risc PC
  20. and StrongARM, but you may need to be a 16 or 256 colour mode. Before you
  21. start, you should unpack the archive using !SparkFS or !SparkPlug.

  28. This program is SHAREWARE. This means that it is distributed in whole, for
  29. you to test and see if you wish to keep it. Feel free to distribute it to
  30. friends etc, provided the archive remains intact, and no profit is made.
  31. This program has a two week trial period. After that, you must either
  32. REGISTER, or delete this program.
  33. To register, send £5 (UKP), along with your name, address, and if possible,
  34. an email address, to the address below. If you do not have an email address,
  35. you should enclose a SSAE and a disc. You will be put on the registration
  36. list, receive the registered version with nag screen removed, and receive
  37. free updates via email on request. You will also have a clear conscience,
  38. and know that you are supporting software development for RISC OS computers.
  39. Please do not rip me off. After all, it's only £5. If you do not have
  40. internet access, and you want an update, you can send me a SSAE and a disc,

  134. INTERGIF 4 is a program for making GIF images from 2-, 4-, 16- or
  135. 256-colour RiscOS sprite files, or from files produced with Iota
  136. Software's (commercial) animation program The Complete Animator. It
  137. can also convert from GIFs back to sprites.

  162.   o InterGif runs either on the desktop, or from the command line (so
  163.     I can produce the GIFs for my own Web pages, from the sprites
  164.     which constitute their source, using a make file!).
  165.  
  166.   o InterGif has options for the transparency and interleaving
  167.     features of GIF89a.
  168.  
  169.   o InterGif can take a sprite file (or an Animator file) containing
  170.     several frames, and produce from it an animated GIF which Netscape
  171.     2.0 or later, MSIE 3.0beta1 or later, or ANT Fresco 1.22 or later
  172.     will render as animated if it's inlined in a Web page.

  174.   o InterGif will reduce its input to a smaller number of colours
  175.     (unless you explicitly tell it not to) if it can get away with it,
  176.     i.e. if only that many of the colours are used anyway.
  177.     
  178.   o It will also compress only the rectangle which has changed on each
  179.     frame, so if your animation has a complex but stationary
  180.     background, the background will only get compressed once.
  181.     Deviousness and cunning are employed to minimise the final size of
  182.     the GIF: so much so that many animated GIFs I've found on the Web
  183.     have ended up smaller when run through InterGif.

  185.   o It can also make GIF images from Draw files if used in conjunction
  186.     with AADraw (see end).

  192. Pretty straightforward. Run !InterGif; drag your sprite file, Animator
  193. file, or GIF onto the left-hand bit of the window; set any options you
  194. want in the middle bit of the window; and save your GIF or sprite file
  195. out from the right-hand bit of the window. The options are:

  198.         Produce an interlaced GIF: in other words, one which a Web
