- Reminder - by Matthew Bloch written for Olivia Kane
- --------------------------- -----------------------
-
- Have you ever been working on a picture in Paint, a document in Impression,
- or a drawing in Draw, and for some inexplicable reason, there is a system
- crash or something somewhere suffers a fatal error, and all your data is
- washed down the drain? You haven't? Oh. Well don't bother reading this file.
-
- However if you have, then this program is for you. All it does is every few
- minutes (how many is up to you), it reminds you to save your work. OK, so
- that's what it does, but how do you use it?
-
- Just load it up in the normal fashion (double click on the icon in the filer
- window) and the icon will appear on the icon bar. Clicking on it will reveal
- the control panel which should consist of two arrows, a number and two icons
- labelled OK and Save. To alter the time before the program reminds you to
- save, either click on the up or down arrows (this will alter the time by one
- minute) or click on the number and type in how long you want. When you are
- satisfied, click OK. If you want to alter the message that the computer
- displays, there is a box for you to write in another message. Clicking on the
- Save icon will save the time and the message to disc so that next time you
- use the program, these settings will be preserved.
-
- Clicking the middle button over the icon on the icon bar reveals three
- options: Info, Reset and Quit. The first and the third are self-explanatory,
- but if you click on Reset, this will reset the timer to whatever intial value
- you gave it.
-
- Thanks to Joe Taylor for the Wimp library: If you want to learn how to
- program the Wimp - get the August '92 issue of Archimedes World with his
- library in it. It's well worth it.
-
- This program is freeware which means you can copy it without charge to anyone
- and PD libraries who don't have it can distribute it; however I retain copyright
- over the program.
