  2.                                Photo Backdrops
  3.                                ===============

  5.      To put these tiled photos onto your backdrop simply double-click on the icon and the backdrop will change.  Then enjoy a brighter life with a photographic backdrop which doesn't take up loads of memory. 
  6.      These backdrops are better than most because:
  7. 1.) They look good
  8. 2.) They are tiled and so aren't memory hungry!
  9. 3.) They are photographs but still look good in only 256 colours!

  13.      Bored of always having the same desktop backdrop?  Then get hold of a random backdrop changer and save it in your boot sequence.  One such program is "Yass2", a screensaver and backdrop changer by Ian Palmer (It was on a 1993 Arc World cover disc).  If you can't find one then write one (!) and send it to me and I will distribute it with my backdrops.  
  14.      The directory "Origionals" contains the origional JPEG images for the backdrops incase you want a more colourful backdrop (ie 32K or 16M colours).

  18.      What you have here is only a small percentage of my complete collection of backdrops.  If you would like more then send me a disc of PD or freeware programs and a stamp to cover return postage and I will be happy to return your disc full of nice backdrops.  Alternatively, you could e-mail me and I will send them to you as an uu-encoded SEA (Self Extracting Archive).

  22.      I am constantly wanting to add to my collection of Backdrops so if you have any you think are of high enough quality then please do send them to me and I will return your disc(s) with new backdrops that are not yet available to everyone else.  Also if you are the origional author of the backdrops please say so and I will include your name in an accompanying text file.

  43.      The texture programs in this directory are Freeware and may be distributed freely but the copyright remains with me, Alasdair Bailey.  This collection of backdrops may be distributed by PD librarys or on the internet and BBSs as long as the charge made for the disc is less than £2.  The actual backdrops themselves are not mine so I don't know what their copyright status is.
  44.      The SEA (Self-Extracting-Archive) in which this was distributed was produced using an excellent freeware compressor called "Dicottery" by Phil Norman.  The package can be downloaded from his website at "http://newton.ex.ac.uk/general/ug/norman"
