  1. VIDEOWARE -- The Rules

  6. This Program is Videoware. Let me explain:
  7.  
  8. I'm looking for someone willing to tape "Married... With Children" (mostly seasons 1-5)
  9. and/or "The Simpsons" for me. Subtitles are OK but it _has_ to be the original soundtrack
  10. (no dubbed versions!). I'll pay the tapes as well as p&p so the only thing it'll cost you
  11. is a little of your time. If nobody agrees to do this for me within 3 months (that'll be
  12. june 97) the status of this program will change to Shareware. Otherwise this program may
  13. be regarded as Freeware, i.e. it may be copied freely as long as it's not sold for profit
  14. and no part of it is changed. An announcement will be made on the comp.sys.acorn* groups
  15. re. what it's gonna be.

  18. You should:
  19.  
  20. - own a decent VCR; ideally HiFi but that's not compulsory. It definitely shouldn't be
  21.   prone to eat tapes or produce lots of dropouts.
  22.  
  23. - be able to tape the shows regularily. A missing show every now and then is no big
  24.   problem but the percentage of missing shows should be smallish.
  25.  
  26. Ideally you could also
  27.  
  28. - get my home brand video cassettes (Fuji SHG240).
  29.  
  30. - cut out commercials during recorings.
  31.  
  32. but those aren't major points.

  35. Writing Software takes up a lot of time. Maybe you could spare some of yours for me.
  36. Don't rely on "someone else'll do it", if you could do it just contact me, please
  37. (preferably via email).

  39. OK, one (two) person(s) doing something so the rest can use this program for free may
  40. not be entirely fair but making everyone send me a tape would be completely useless to
  41. me since I'd only end up with lots of identical episodes. And I really want those shows,
  42. I'm sick and tired of the dubbed versions.
  43. Besides there have to be some people out there watching these shows anyway. What's the
  44. big deal in pressing the record button?

  51. The author will not be held responsible for any kind of damage resulting from using
  52. this program. I do exhaustive debugging with all my software so serious errors are
  53. unlikely but if you use this program it's entirely at your own risk.
